A closer look at the human side of work.

Perspectives and practical questions for leaders, people teams and professionals who want to understand the workplace more deeply.

01 / People strategy

Before you choose an intervention, ask a better question.

Read the perspective

When a team is struggling, the first proposed solution is often a workshop. Start a step earlier: what is happening, for whom, and in which situations? Listen across roles, compare perspectives and separate the symptoms from possible causes. A clear problem statement helps you choose a proportionate response and decide what progress would look like.

02 / Workplace intelligence

Listening is only the beginning.

Read the perspective

Before asking employees for feedback, decide how the findings will be reviewed and who will own the response. Explain the purpose, the confidentiality arrangements and what participants can expect next. Close the loop by sharing what was heard, what will change and what cannot change yet. Listening becomes useful when it leads to a visible conversation about action.

03 / Leadership

What does your team need from you now?

Read the perspective

Leadership development can start with three practical questions: where do people need more clarity, where are decisions getting stuck, and which conversations are being avoided? Invite specific examples. Choose one behaviour to practise, agree how you will notice a difference and return to the conversation. Small, observable commitments create a useful starting point.
